February Astrology Forecast
February is a short but powerful month. Its aim? To connect us powerfully to our own divinity, defined as our capacity to transcend (perceived!) limitations.
And all thanks to Neptune conjunct the North Node. A Leo Full Moon on February 12th helps us break the mould and a Pisces New Moon on February 28th trains our inner senses. Leo and Pisces are signs of creativity and the imagination. We’re about to go into a magical forty days of initiation this March and it’s time to plant the seeds February brings clarity on many matters, thanks to Mercury conjunct the Sun. And with Mars turning direct on the 24th, we're raring to go. But the way is not yet open. With Venus and Mercury both about to go retrograde, we’ll have to navigate some tricky terrain.

Node Conjuncts Neptune, 1-7 February: Highway to the Divine!
The month enters on a deeply romantic and inspirational note with Venus, Neptune and the North Node all joined together in the last degrees of Pisces, boosted by the Moon. Venus meets Moon, Neptune and the North Node in Pisces on February 1st and the deal completes with a Neptune-Node conjunction on the 7th, fostering the imagination, forgiveness and unity consciousness.
Time to embark on the most inspiring, loving and all-encompassing spiritual journey!
The North Node and Neptune may begin to apply some dissolving fluid to aspects of our life now, softening what’s hardened and making it easier to let things go - things like deep obsessions, festering disappointments and other recalcitrant bits. The healing waters are literally rushing in to help connect us with greater currents. This could be a beautiful, if somewhat poignant time.
Jupiter Stations Direct, 4 February: Visualise It Forward
We've also got a breathless Jupiter stationing direct on February 4th and there is a great sense of hope, excitement and nervous anticipation in the air.
Whatever vision we've held and nurtured for the past five months it's time to release it out into the world and trust that we will see it manifest.
Watch out for Mars squaring Chiron on the 4th too, when everything may feel a little raw.
Venus enters Aries, 4 February: Bravery in Love
By the 4th Venus also enters Aries, where she will soon turn retrograde. Time to drum up the courage to welcome whatever Spring 2025 has in store. Venus is already in her retrograde shadow by this point (she turns retrograde on March 2nd), and it’s time to begin treading softly where financial agreements and relationships are concerned.
Soon it will be time to reevaluate what we truly desire and commit afresh to the people and endeavours that are most important to us.
Use February to finalise existing agreements and tidy up loose ends around preferences, investments or affections that have now ran their course.
Mercury Conjuncts Sun, 9 February: Clarity
On February 1st Mercury reaches his apogee - his furthest point away from the earth - giving us a true sense of perspective. And by the 9th Mercury on the far side of the solar system, aligns with the Sun in Aquarius - this is Mercury's so called "superior conjunction" - revealing important information.
February 9th is like a 'Full Mercury', signifying a major point of clarity and objectivity.
We could see the release of important information pertaining to the events of 2021-22, which was when Mercury was retrograde in that same sign, Aquarius. With Jupiter freshly direct in chatty Gemini too, expect revelations to continue apace, with waves hitting repeatedly on the 10th and 11th as Mercury sextiles Chiron and squares Uranus, and into the Full Moon of the 12th. News now may well shock now or hit a raw nerve. All in all, February 9th to 12th could shed clarity on a whole host of matters.
Mars Trine Saturn 9 February: Stamina and Discipline
Also on the 9th, Mars trines Saturn fostering stamina and discipline. This is an aspect remains active for a long time, with high notes on March 8th and 12th and a final act on April 7th.
Whatever is going on right now, we're in this for the long haul. Time to come up with some workable strategies.
It’s only another two weeks before Mars turns direct and impels us to deploy our energies. And while things are fluid and changeable we need some sort of tentative action plan.
Use February 9th-24th to explore the best strategy for moving forward, factoring in a prolonged period of uncertainty in March and April when Mercury and Venus go retrograde.
Leo Full Moon, 12 February: Be Still My Heart
On February 12th we have a crazy and destabilising Full Moon in Leo at 24:06 degrees at 13:53 UT.
This Full Moon is dramatic, exciting and potentially a little jarring. It can bring surprises and breakthroughs, allowing us to transcend mental limitations and break the mould.
The Sun and Moon square Uranus, shaking things loose and bringing unexpected news and developments. Uranus asks that we stay detached from any particular outcome and seek only truth. But fear and uncertainty can make us hard and unyielding now, giving rise to radical views and intolerance.
It’s crucial that we don't let the mind run the show now, but drop into the wisdom of the heart, where true freedom lies.
Leo is a fixed fire sign. It symbolises the steady flame that burns in every heart. Time to test that flame and keep it strong, even as every fixed point of reference becomes unsteady.
Mars has been retrograde for months now and it’s understandable if we feel a little worn out. The Sabian Symbol of this Full Moon is a large camel seen crossing a vast and forbidding desert, indicating a solitary journey of initiation in the dry heat of the sun. Here we see stamina and endurance but also the capacity to transcend whatever the outer circumstances.
Mercury and Sun in Pisces 14-18 February: Vast Waters
Pisces season begins on February 18th with the Sun's entry into Pisces, close on the heels of Mercury in Pisces on the 14th. This could be quite a wet and stormy time (literally and metaphorically), as there’s a glut of planets in Pisces right now.
Time to connect with our spirit, ignite the imagination and let ourselves merge with the greater currents.
Watch out for the 20th, when Mercury squares Jupiter overwhelming the mind with grand visions. It may be hard to keep a sense of proportion now and as we head into early March.
Mars Goes Direct 24 February: Battery Fully Charged!
On February 24th, around 2am UT, after nearly three months, Mars turns direct at 17 degrees of Cancer.
All the energy that was held up since December 6th (when Mars went retrograde) is now released and put at our disposal. And this uprush of energy needs somewhere to go!
Projects that have been in the works since December 6th - and may have even been ongoing all throughout the autumn - are now finally given the green light. Mars has to hit a few more high notes yet, notably on March when he trines the Sun. But at least, we're finally firing on all cylinders...
Mercury Conjuncts Saturn, 25 February: Mental Sobriety
Close on the heels of Mars direct, Mercury conjuncts Saturn on the 25th and while the flesh may be willing the spirit may be weak.
Sober thinking and strategising may be necessary now as the mind squares off against reality.
Innovative solutions may well become available as Mercury sextiles Uranus on the 27th. Much will change down the road as Venus and Mercury go retrograde in March. At least now we have the facts and the energy to navigate whatever twists and turns await down the road.
Pisces New Moon, 28 February: A Magical Time Begins!
February closes with a New Moon in Pisces that opens up new possibilities, just past midnight on February 28th (00:44UT) at 09:40 degrees. Pisces is all about honouring our inner technology. It is about the capacity to feel deep compassion, forgiveness and empathy. And it's about our hidden, magical abilities, such as the use of symbolic and lateral thinking, our intuition, imagination and divine guidance to navigate our life.
This is a time of transcendence, once more, of inner and outer circumstances, so we can master a new plane of existence.
The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “an aviator pursues his journey flying through ground obscuring clouds”
Logic, reason and our five senses are no good to us now. We need to activate our magical skills to navigate the fog. It’s time to tune within and act on our inner senses.
This New Moon squares Jupiter and widely trines Mars, giving us the enthusiasm and energy to plant fresh seeds. It can be a little chaotic too, especially as Mercury, Neptune and the North Node are sailing close together, befuddling the mind. All the more important that we find our strength in things often considered weak, like our feelings, impressions and divine inspiration. Activating these skills will serve us well come March-April.
Mercury's Retrograde Shadow, 28 February: Lighter Step
Come the end of February, Mercury enters his retrograde shadow and every new step we take is only tentative.
Time to begin wrapping things up and detaching from old thought patterns.
Mercury will go retrograde on March 15th, following on the heels of Venus retrograde on March 2nd and we’re about to be wrapped in a thick transformative cocoon as we head for spring... Let the magic begin!
